Aspects of surrogacy

Not every woman can become a surrogate mother, as there are certain contraindications for this “work”:

Surrogacy in Ukraine

Who can become a surrogate mother? According to the law, it has to be a woman of 20-35 years old who already has her child.

Who uses the services of a surrogate mother? As a rule, genetic parents are people 35 to 40 years old who have already exhausted all attempts and possibilities of getting pregnant on their own.

In which countries is surrogacy banned? Surrogacy is not supported by the entire world community. There are some countries where this procedure is “taboo”: Germany, Italy, Sweden, Estonia, France, and Norway. 

The prohibition is justified by moral and legal aspects. In some countries (Finland, Spain, Greece) there is no direct prohibition.

  • When more than one embryo is transferred, the rate of multiple pregnancy reaches 30%.
