Helpful Tips to Grow a Beard

0

Beards are trending. Chances are, they will not go anywhere, anytime soon. Today, more men than ever before are embracing the “mountain man” look and ditching their razors and clippers for good. Growing a beard can be great, and more about this trend can be found when someone takes time to check out this article. However, for some men, growing a beard – at least one they can be proud of – is easier said than done. While it can be challenging at times, some tips can help.

Remain Patient

A quality beard takes time. It grows about half of an inch a month. Also, each part of the beard will grow at a different rate. This means it is necessary to give the beard about three to four weeks before thinking about shaving or trimming.

Some men give up on growing a beard because they thought it appeared patchy or because the stubble itched. The reality is that they did not provide their beard enough time to grow. Take a few more weeks to let the patchy areas grow in.

Moisturization is Essential

Beard itch is real. While this is true, it does not mean it must last. Beardruff and beard itch are caused by two main things – dry whiskers that irritate the skin or dry skin. Both issues can be prevented by using a quality beard oil or moisturizer. This product will help to soften the beard and prevent the irritation mentioned above.

Some people prefer beard moisturizers instead of beard oil because the moisturizer is more versatile. However, this is typically a matter of personal preference.

Build Up the Natural Oils in the Beard

It is a good idea to wash the beard two times per week. If someone washes their beard each day, it can cause it to be dry and abrasive. This is because the soap is going to strip away all the oils that occur naturally, and that helps keep the beard soft. While washing the face with soap and water daily is necessary, this is not the case for a person’s beard. Using a specially formulated beard wash is going to help someone grow the best beard possible. Once the beard and skin are washed, be sure to apply the selected moisturizer and beard oil.

Keep the Beard Tamed

No one wants a neck beard. When someone is trying to grow a beard, they should make sure to maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance. During the initial month of growth, do not trim the beard; just stick to the perimeter. This means do not let the stubble move down the neck and combine with chest hair. This is not a good look for anyone.

When it comes to growing a great looking beard, it is something that takes time and effort. Be sure to keep the tips and information here in mind to know what to do and what to avoid to help optimize beard growth. Keeping this in mind will pay off in the long run.
