The very sense of losing all that freedom to make the right or wrong choices and having a professional determine al of this for you is just daunting.

Going to rehab has never been an easy decision to make. But the truth of the matter is that you don’t have to wait too long before you finally decide to give rehab and detox a chance.

What makes my addiction severe enough to give into rehab?

Well, it’s not that hard to know if your substance abuse is an addiction or not. One sure way of determining if your addiction is extreme is if your substance intake is affecting the relationship that you have with those that are close to you or not.

If your addiction exposes you to any of the following, it is important to know that you really need some genuine help;

  • Lack of control
  • Cravings
  • Relationship problems
  • Tolerance
  • Worsening situations
  • Withdrawal
  • Changing your focus to spending a lot of time to try and get the substance in use

The most important thing is acceptance of your situation. Lots of patients often lose the battle because they choose not to accept that they have a problem and decide to brush it off.

Remember, your addiction can still get worse if you do not take the right approach towards it.
