Why Do Different Dogs Show Distinct Personalities?

0

Before you own a dog, you will discover that all dogs show different traits. According to some, it is not a wise decision to judge dogs based on their breeds or the entire breeds based on the behavior of a single dog. At times, this seems justified. Nonetheless, when people study the nature of canines more, they gain more information that genetics play a significant role in the attitude of dogs. For many centuries, dogs have been bred, and human beings are manipulating the DNA of wolves to create canines that can do particular tasks, and these tasks have varied from guarding, hunting, herding, etc. This means some traits are sought after in some breeding processes.

Different purposes

Recently, the requirement for working dogs has lessened a bit; hence, people have begun to treat dogs more as companions than workers. Nonetheless, it does not signify that those traits have disappeared. For example, a beagle will continue to have its wonderful nose because people breed it for this purpose only. On the other hand, a collie will require chasing as it was bred particularly for herding.

The personality of American Akita

Though an Akita dog breed looks similar to an outdoor dog, they remain extremely happy when they live in houses. Hence, they love when they live with families. The Akitas are dignified, courageous, and have loyal personalities. Again, they remain always dedicated to their owners, as due to this behavior, they can turn into superb watchdogs. An Akita dog breed is pretty protective, territorial, and fearless. Again, this breed is popular for being highly suspicious of strangers. The good thing is it isn’t highly talkative, and due to this behavior, it can warn people of strangers or an abrupt alteration in its surroundings.

The exercise

Akitas aren’t very active. Still, they are suggested daily exercise. This is done so that they do not feel bored or become overweight. These dogs can go for long walks when the weather is cool. Again, they can also hike well. Whenever you take this dog breed outside, you need to ensure it has been getting lots of room where it can run to its heart’s content. As these dogs are heavier and larger, they might be cautious of their surroundings. Again, sometimes, they also knock things off when they play.

Playing games with Akita

When you want an Akita dog to learn some task or play a game that needs it to carry something in its mouth, you can observe that it will love the task thoroughly. An Akita dog breed enjoys games because they stimulate its mind. As this dog breed is classed as a working dog, it can exercise while doing its job. Commonly, these dogs are used to guard and watch.
